Something is wrong with my children
I'd sneak in and take a photo but I'm scared the moment will end.

Summer Fun
As usual, the camera wasn't far away.
I survived Kinder duty!
Max had a great morning. I introduced him to box construction so that he could make some 'Transformers' and I think he has found his new 'thing'. He managed to get the hang of the masking tape and scissors and spent most of indoor time working on his project. It still isn't finished, he wants to add more to it on wednesday. I can see we'll be collecting lots of things to take to kinder to add to the construction table, only for us to bring them home again.
I didn't take many photos, Kay kept me too busy. The privacy laws mean that I could only take photos of my own children so that made it difficult to get good shots when there were lots of kids around. I did manage to get a few though.

The Return of Routine
Bliss.
Tomorrow welcomes the return of some semblance of a routine in our week. Kinder is normal hours, Jemima is back at 'Little Kinder', I have Playgroup and Octobubs. I've really missed having that structure to my week. The past 2 months have dragged soooo slowly with school holidays and then a slow start to the kindergarten year. I think Max and Jemima have really missed it too. I know Jemima is craving some time away from Max and the feeling is probably mutual.
Andrew left for Korea this morning so having a routine is going to make the time pass more quickly.
This is my week:
Monday - Kinder for Max. Work for me in the evening
Tuesday - Haircuts for the kids, Playgroup. Catch up for Tracey's birthday in the evening.
Wednesday - Kinder for Max
Thursday - Kinder for Max, Little Kinder for Jemima
Friday - Octobubs
Saturday - work
Sunday -Swimming for Max. Andrew is home from Korea
I'm on kinder duty tomorrow. I can't wait to see what goes on. I have the camera charged and ready to go. I'll be back tomorrow with photos.

First day of Kindergarten
My big boy has his first session at kinder today. I think you can tell by the look on his face that he was pretty proud of himself. It's only half groups this week and for a short session which is a gigantic pain in the backside for parents. I understand the rationale behind it, I used to be a kindergarten teacher so I've been on the other side. But as a parent, dropping him off for 1.25 hours - 75 minutes is just ridiculous. When he was at Coonara last year for 3 year old kinder they started the year with a full session of 2.5 hours. It seems silly now they're having less time when they're older. Thank goodness this staggered intake only lasts for 2 weeks.
Jemima was less than thrilled to be told that she couldn't stay at kinder this morning. She walked into the classroom and sat on the mat with Max and wowsers did she protest when it was time to go. The same thing happened when we went to pick him up, she pulled up a chair at the drawing table and decided she was staying. I think she's really missing occassional care, thank goodness it starts up again next week.
Can't wait to hear how Keely goes tomorrow at her Kinder. It's a shame they aren't together for kinder this year but in some ways it's nice that they have something separate and they have the opportunity to make new friends. Hopefully they'll be super excited to see each other at other times during the week.
This time next year I'll be blogging about his first day at school...now that's something I am NOT ready for AT ALL!
