Retreat! Retreat!

A weekend of pure bliss and now I'm home. The Scrapbook Scene had our first Retreat this weekend and it was sensational. It started at 2pm on friday and ended at 5pm today. We stayed at The Country Place in Kalorama up in the Dandenong Ranges which is only 20 minutes from my house which was even nicer. The food was absolutely amazing and the company of 34 other scrapaholics like myself was just what the doctor ordered. It was lovely to be able to just work on whatever we wanted to and leave it set up all over the table (and the floor) and not have to keep packing it away. I managed to finish 11 layouts and I'm pretty happy with most of them. I loved being able to use all the things in my stash without having to think about classes for the shop or design team projects. I had a list of all the elements I wanted to incorporate into layouts, grungeboard, felt, chipboard, stitching etc. I manged to do most of them in one form or the other. I can't wait for the next one.

Anyway... here are the projects from the weekend ...

Juggling

Do you ever feel like you're constantly juggling? I feel that way at the moment, and I'm not very good at juggling. All the balls seem to be smacking me in the head. Between home, kids, the shop, kinder, relief teaching and the myriad of other little bits and pieces, it's making my head spin. I wish I could be one of these super-women who can manage to do it all and still come out looking like a million dollars at the end of the day. I'm just bogged down in the never ending cycle of washing and tidying. It's Groundhog Day! I think I need a super multi vitamin. *sigh*

Oh well...self pitying post over.

A game

I saw this on Penni's blog and looked like fun. I did cheat a little bit though...I went beyond the first page of images. It was fun looking at the different images that came up by typing in one word.

The concept:

a. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.
b. Using only the first page, pick an image.
c. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into fd's mosaic maker.

The Questions:

1. What is your first name?
2. What is your favorite food?
3. What high school did you go to?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. Who is your celebrity crush?
6. Favorite drink?
7. Dream vacation?
8. Favorite dessert?
9. What you want to be when you grow up?
10. What do you love most in life?
11. One Word to describe you.
12. Your flickr name

Don't die of shock Ruth...

3 posts in one day!

Just thought I'd post a couple of pictures of the munchkins, just for Aunty Jan. xxx

If you like food...

You seriously have to check out my friend Dani's site, The Kitchen Playground. I have nowhere near enough skill to keep up with her amazing reportoire of culinary delights, but I still check her blog every day and she never ceases to make me drool.

artsy fartsy

I thought I'd take a leaf out of Jan's book and post some pictures of a few artsy fartsy projects I've been working on lately. Excuse the quality of the photos, all the projects are on display at The Scrapbook Scene and I didn't take them out of their pockets or off the shelves to photograph them.
